Daukaus defeated Gerald Meerschaert via submission (brabo choke) at 0:50 of Round 1 at UFC 322 on Saturday in New York City.
ANALYSIS
Too easy. Facing an opponent unable to defend himself on the feet, Daukaus was able to turn two huge strikes into a knockdown just seconds into the fight. From there, he brilliantly clamped on one of his signature chokes which closed the show. A win over Meerschaert means less than nothing in the grand scheme of things here at the end of 2025, but Daukaus once again showed that he probably never should have been cut from the UFC about three years ago. He's won six straight since, including back-to-back first-round stoppage victories since returning to the company in August.

An aggressive Pereira rushed him early on, but Daukaus clipped him with a short right hook that sent him to the canvas. He pounced and finished the job with some brutal elbows that put his opponent out cold before referee Marc Goddard could rush in. The finish would go on to earn him one of four $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses awarded on the evening. Perhaps the 32-year-old is here to stay this time around.

He went 2-4 with one NC in his previous UFC stint, though he hasn't stepped in an octagon in the promotion since losing to Eryk Anders on Dec. 3, 2022.
