Brazil

Snaps brief losing streak
StrawweightUFC
February 7, 2026
Souza defeated Bruna Brasil via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a largely boring affair in which neither woman accomplished very much of anything offensively. The significant strike count was 33-31 in Souza's favor, although virtually nothing of note was landed either way. Souza connected on just 1-of-8 takedown attempts, although she did finish with 8:03 worth of control time, almost all of which was standing cage control. Entering having lost back-to-back bouts and almost certainly fighting for her job, Souza did what she had to do to win, even if it didn't make for a pleasurable viewing experience.

Souza will take on Bruna Brasil in a strawweight bout at UFC Vegas 113 on Feb. 7, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Souza will look to bounce back after two straight losses, the most recent of which came at the hands of Piera Rodriguez via split decision back in August. That dropped her UFC record to 2-3, and she'll look to get back to the .500 mark against an opponent in Brasil who currently sits at 3-3 herself.
Drops opener to Rodriguez
StrawweightUFC

Souza lost to Piera Rodriguez via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Vegas 108 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Souza was fortunate judge Derek Cleary saw it her way, as Cleary awarded her the first two frames despite the fact she gave up multiple takedowns in each, as well as finished behind in both significant strikes and control time. The second round was at least a bit closer, as Souza threatened with a submission and partially landed a big elbow. While this fight was by no means a rout, Souza has now lost back-to-back fights, but by split decision. She'll likely need a bounceback her next time out to remain with the organization.

Souza lost to Angela Hill via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
There's absolutely a case to be made that Souza deserved a better fate, but it was such a close fight that it's difficult to get worked up about the decision either way. Souza most definitely deserves credit for getting back on track following a poor opening round. She picked up her output considerably in the second frame and landed the bigger blows in Round 3. If two of the three judges gave her the fight, no one would have batted an eye. The 30-year-old Brazilian drops to 2-2 in her first four UFC bouts.
Draws Hill in February
StrawweightUFC
January 14, 2025
Souza will take on Angela Hill in a strawweight matchup at UFC Vegas 102 on February 15, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After losing her UFC debut in 2023, Souza has rattled off back-to-back victories, most recently defeating Yazmin Jauregui via first-round submission in September. She now takes on one of the most experienced female fighters on the roster in Hill, who is coming off an August defeat that snapped a two-fight winning streak. If this fight remains standing, as the offensive wrestling numbers suggest, Hill will have a slight statistical advantage in striking volume, while Souza sports the superior defensive marks.
Pulls upset of Yazmin Jauregui
StrawweightUFC
September 14, 2024
Souza defeated Yazmin Jauregui via technical submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:02 of Round 1 at UFC 306 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
1-1 in her UFC career entering the evening, with a win over Marnic Mann and a loss to Karine Silva on her resume, no one gave Souza much of a chance of emerging victorious here, which is why she entered as a +400 underdog. Yet, her power proved to be legitimate, as Jauregui found out first-hand. The Brazilian dropped her opponent with a massive left hook before expertly taking her back and putting Yazmin to sleep. It goes in the books as a submission win for Souza, but the power shot is what caused the stoppage. It will be interesting to see if Ketlen can follow up this performance with another strong one her next time out. In the meantime, she'll earn a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus as one of just two fight finishers on the evening.
