Baraniewski defeated Mahamed Aly via KO (Punches) at 0:20 of Round 1 at Dana White's Contender Series on Tuesday. After the show, he was one of four fighters to be officially awarded a UFC contract.

Baraniewski came to MMA after a successful judo career, but you wouldn't know it from this performance, as one crisp right hand while Aly was exiting the pocket led to the finish. The Polish fighter actually has more knockouts (4) than submissions (2) in his professional MMA career, but his grappling background should give him a leg up at light heavyweight. He moves to 6-0-0 as a result of the victory.
