Matched up against Alvidrez

Prado will fight Christopher Alvidrez at UFC 327 on April 11, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
After losing to Nikolay Veretennikov in July, Prado sits at just 1-4 in his UFC career, so the 23-year-old will certainly be desperate to collect a win against Alvidrez, who will be making his debut with the company. If Prado falls short, his time with the UFC could come to an end.
Gets no help from judges in defeat
LightweightUFC

July 19, 2025
Prado lost to Nikolay Veretennikov via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC 318 on Saturday in New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Prado isn't going to be happy with this result, and he certainly has a legitimate gripe. Of course, the fact it took Prado more than half the fight to get anything going certainly didn't help matters any. He consistently attempted to lean on his wrestling, landing 3-of-10 takedowns for 6:49 worth of control time. Prado's surge in the second-half of the fight was aided by the fact Veretennikov was exhausted. Ultimately, two of the three judges didn't think he did enough to win. Prado is just 23 years old, but he's now lost three straight and four of five with the UFC. He seems like the ideal candidate to be let go, have success on the regional scene, then return to the company at some point down the line.
Fighting Veretennikov

Prado will fight Nikolay Veretennikov at UFC 318 on July 19th, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Prado is set to take on Veretennikov and will look to get back on track after losing to Jake Matthews via unanimous decision on Feb. 8. Veretennikov has lost his first two UFC fights, both of which have come within the last year. Prado has a three-inch deficit in height and reach, but he has slightly more experience.
Drops decision at UFC 311
LightweightUFC

Prado lost to Jake Matthews via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 312 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Prado struggled with the physicality of Matthews all evening, which isn't the least bit surprising given the size difference between the two. A pure striker, Prado was unable to get inside with any consistency and thus was unable to string together combinations and significantly damage his opponent. The 22-year-old Argentinian is a classic "tweener." He's too big for 155 pounds, but doesn't have the size to consistently compete at welterweight. With a 1-3 record in his first four UFC bouts, Prado won't have the chance to compete in any division if he doesn't get his act together soon.
Taking on Matthews
LightweightUFC
Out
January 10, 2025
Prado will face off against Jake Matthews at UFC 312 on Feb. 8, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Prado, who was most recently defeated by Daniel Zellhuber in February of 2024, will look to bounce back against Jake Matthews at UFC 312. The 22-year-old Argentinian fighter, who is 1-2 during his time with the UFC, will face off against a much more experienced fighter in Matthews.
