UFC Debut set
Montes will take on Roberto Romero in a featherweight bout at UFC 314 on April. 12, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Montes earned a UFC contract in October after winning a fight in Dana White's Contender Series via anaconda choke. His UFC debut is now set for April, and he'll take on a fighter in Roberto Romero who is also seeking his first UFC win after dropping his first bout in the promotion to David Onama via unanimous decision.

Scores contract with anaconda choke
Montes defeated Carlos Calderon via submission (anaconda choke) at 2:38 of Round 2 at Dana White's Contender Series. After the show, he was one of five fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Montes wasn't particularly convincing in a narrow Round 1, as the (-275) betting favorite was taken down twice and came up short by a 19-to-12 margin the significant striking count. He was able to find the choke he attempted in first frame in Round 2, however, forcing the tap and earning a contract. The 30-year-old is the second fighter on the evening who previously hailed under Combate Global to win a contract.
