Updating a previous report, Yanez's scheduled bout against Christian Quinonez has indeed been removed from Saturday's card due to visa issues on Quinonez's end, Nolan King of USA Today reports.

It's unclear when, or if, the UFC will book a new opponent for Yanez. He was scheduled to enter this bout as approximately a (-225) betting favorite, and would presumably be favored again against a short-notice replacement.

Yanez is in search of a new opponent for UFC Vegas 111 on Saturday after Christian Quinonez has reportedly withdrawn from the scheduled bout, according to the Daniel Levi of Half the Battle Podcast.

The UFC is apparently looking for a new opponent to keep Yanez on the card, though the company still lists the bantamweight matchup as happening on the official UFC site. No reason was provided for the withdrawal of Quinonez, but stay tuned for an official announcement from the UFC. Yanez hasn't seen live action since his December 2024 loss to Daniel Marcos.

ANALYSIS
This was a close fight, albeit one in which two of the three judges seemed to get it correct. Yanez is an excellent boxer with very fast hands. He damaged Marcos on multiple occasions, but his inability or unwillingness to improve defensively was once again his downfall. Yanez had a chance to win this fight, but Marcos picked up a pair of takedowns in Round 3 which ended up being enough. Yanez still appears to have plenty of gas left in the tank at age 31, but losses in three of his last four bouts is a death sentence for any fighter competing at 135 pounds these days.

However, taking down Marcos will likely prove to be a tougher challenge, as Marcos has yet to take a loss (16-0) in his professional career.
