Rinzel spent most of the past season at the University of Minnesota, where he had 10 goals and 22 assists in 40 games, but did get nine games in the NHL after his collegiate season ended. He flashed loads of potential in those nine outings, picking up five assists while averaging over 23 minutes of ice time. The 21-year-old also quarterbacked the top power-play unit, where he had three of his five assists. It remains to be seen if the 2022 first-round pick will hold that same role next season, considering all of the potential options on the roster; however, if he does, Rinzel's ceiling and fantasy potential are sky-high. Like with most of the Blackhawks' young defensemen, there is some risk in case he struggles out of the gate and gets sent down to the AHL, but Rinzel hasn't played a game there yet, and if he continues to build on the good start from last season, he likely never will. ANALYSIS
Rinzel has three helpers over three games since he was made a healthy scratch last Saturday versus the Maple Leafs. The 21-year-old blueliner has operated as the Blackhawks' seventh defenseman, resulting in a large drop in ice time from where he was at early in the season. He's up to six points, 29 shots on net, 26 blocked shots, 18 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 20 appearances. Rinzel has the talent to play a larger role, but he'll need to string together some good performances to stake a claim to more ice time.

Rinzel became eligible to sign an entry-level deal when the University of Minnesota lost to UMass in overtime Thursday.
