Josh Doan

23-Year-Old Right WingRW
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Doan had two stints in the NHL, a brief one to begin the campaign and a longer stretch to close it out, in 2024-25. While he looked overmatched in the earlier stint, he found his way as a third-liner after he got called back up in January. Doan finished the season with 19 points, 88 shots on net, 45 hits and a minus-2 rating over a total of 51 appearances with Utah. The 23-year-old forward looks ready to make the full-time leap in 2025-26, but he'll have to adjust to a new organization after being dealt to the Sabres in June. Doan is still worth keeping an eye on for fantasy purposes as a possible depth option for managers since he's young and has breakout potential if he settles in well. Read Past Outlooks

Pair of helpers Monday
RWBuffalo Sabres
December 2, 2025
Doan distributed two assists and recorded a shot on goal in Monday's 5-1 win over Winnipeg.
ANALYSIS
Doan slid the primary helper on Jason Zucker's power-play goal to open the scoresheet and helped Alex Tuch score the team's fourth goal. With the pair of apples, Doan is up to 10 assists, 18 points, 67 shots on goal and 26 hits through 26 games this season. The 23-year-old winger is already just one point away from surpassing his total of 19 through 51 regular-season games with Utah a year ago. He's played in an increased role this season while bouncing around Buffalo's lines, and he's currently skating middle-six minutes alongside Tuch. Doan has half of his points in the last 10 games and is heating up with three multi-point performances in that stretch. The Sabres have themselves a rising star in Doan, who has the potential to take off down the stretch if he sees another increase in playing time to his current role. He is a valuable add in deep leagues and could be a sneaky waiver-wire target in standard formats if his high-level play continues.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
The son of former Coyotes legend Shane Doan, Josh recently completed what was a wildly successful first full pro season. He had 26 goals and 46 points in 62 AHL games. Doan was then recalled in late March and scored twice in his NHL debut. He finished with five goals and nine points in 11 games for the Coyotes. Doan isn't going to shoot 21.7 percent over the course of a full season, but he is a legitimate prospect. Still 22 years of age, the Arizona native should open the season on Utah's third line and threaten the 20-goal mark in his first full NHL campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Representing Team USA
RWUtah Mammoth
April 30, 2025
Doan was added to Team USA's 2025 IIHF World Championship roster, Team USA announced Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Doan appeared in 54 games in the NHL this year after a brief stint with the big club last season following the completion of his sophomore season at Arizona State. Now, he'll get a valuable experience playing alongside more established NHL players on the world stage in the upcoming World Championship. What exactly his role will be remains unclear at this point, but the tournament should help him build on a 2024-25 campaign in which he racked up seven goals and 12 assists.
