ANALYSIS
Hallander remains on injured reserve for now, but he may be activated prior to Saturday's game versus the Rangers. He is recovering from a blood clot in his leg, which has cost him more than three months of action. Hallander figures to be a bottom-six option for the Penguins once he gets back in the lineup.

The 25-year-old forward hasn't scored a goal in nine straight games while collecting two assists, 16 shots and five blocks. Pittsburgh doesn't have any healthy forwards on the roster right now. Kevin Hayes, who is recovering from an upper-body injury, filled in for Hallinder following the latter's exit.
