Commesso's chances of being an NHL regular took a significant hit back in 2024-25, as the Blackhawks' acquisition of Spencer Knight deepened the team's organizational depth in net. Knight and Arvid Soderblom are likely to begin 2025-26 as Chicago's NHL netminders, while Commesso will look to build on a decent campaign in the minors. Commesso went 18-15-6 with a 2.54 GAA and a .911 save percentage over 39 games with AHL Rockford last year.
