Hildeby played pretty well in his second season in the AHL, logging a 16-9-4 record with a 2.55 GAA and a .908 save percentage over 30 regular-season games. He found less success in the NHL, going 3-3-0 with a 3.33 GAA and a .878 save percentage over six appearances. Hildeby will be going into his age-24 season in 2025-26, and while he doesn't have a path to NHL action just yet, the tandem of Joseph Woll and Anthony Stolarz carries some injury risk. ANALYSIS
The only goal that got past Hildeby came on a jam play by Cole Caufield on a second-period power play. Hildeby was especially sharp that frame -- the Leafs were pinned in their own end for most of the period, and the shots were 14-3 in favor of the Habs. He'll be the starter for at least a week because Joseph Woll is on the shelf with a lower-body injury.

Joseph Woll will guard the road goal against Washington on Friday, so it would make sense for Hildeby to work the second half of that back-to-back. Hildeby is 0-2-1 with a 3.36 GAA and a .906 save percentage in five appearances this season. Pittsburgh has struggled recently, going 3-4-3 from Nov. 1 - Nov. 26. The Penguins will play Friday in Columbus, so Saturday's action will also be Pittsburgh's second game in as many days.
