SLATE PREVIEW
There are four games in the NHL on Friday. Tampa Bay plays in Detroit, Washington hosts Minnesota, Vancouver travels to Chicago and Utah is home to San Jose. Below, you'll find suggested options for crafting an effective lineup.
GOALIES
Andrei Vasilevskiy, TB at DET ($7,600): It hasn't been a great start to the season for Vasilevskiy or the Lightning, but they'll try to turn it around against the Red Wings. The 2019 Vezina winner is 0-2-1 with a 4.07 GAA and .870 save percentage, but remains an elite NHL goaltender.
Kevin Lankinen, VAN at CHI ($7,500): Lankinen is likely to get the start on Friday as Thatcher Demko played Thursday in Dallas. He gave up four goals on 35 shots Monday during a 5-2 loss to the Blues, so look for him to bounce back against the Blackhawks.
VALUE PLAYS
Dylan Strome, WSH vs. MIN ($5,900): Strome has tallied two assists, both coming on Tuesday against Tampa. He established a career-high last season with 82 points and is more than capable of breaking out against the Wild.
Anthony Beauvillier, WSH vs. MIN ($4,000): Beauvillier has moved up to the Caps' first line alongside Strome and Alex Ovechkin and picked up his first goal of the season on Sunday. He notched 15 goals and 25 points last season and earns significant value skating with Ovechkin.
FORWARD LINE STACKS
Mammoth vs. Sharks
JJ Peterka (W - $6,000), Logan Cooley (C - $6,200), Dylan Guenther (W - $7,200)
The Mammoth have two excellent lines, though I prefer this trio on Friday. Guenther leads the team with two goals and four points while Peterka is at two goals and an assist. Cooley has only managed one goal so far, yet should do well on Friday against the Sharks as they'll allowing an NHL-worst 5.33 goals per game.
Canucks at Blackhawks
Evander Kane (W - $4,500), Elias Pettersson (C - $5,900), Conor Garland, (W - $4,700)
This group combined for one goal and three assists against Dallas on Thursday. Garland scored his first goal of the season and has three points while Pettersson and Kane have each supplied two assists. Their combined salaries are also inexpensive, where you can use them as a second stack.
DEFENSEMEN
Jakob Chychrun, WSH vs. MIN ($5,800): Chychrun is off to a great start with a goal and three assists through four games. He reached the 20-goal mark for the first time last season as one of only three defensemen (the others being Cale Makar and Zach Werenski) to do so.
Dmitry Orlov, SJ vs. UTAH ($4,700): Orlov has three assists in three games and carries a significant power-play role. If you need a cheap blueliner to fill out your roster, he can help.
