SLATE PREVIEW
There are three games in the NHL on Friday. Chicago hosts Washington, Los Angeles travels to Winnipeg and St. Louis goes to Utah. Below, you'll find suggested options for crafting an effective lineup.
GOALIE
Karel Vejmelka, UTA vs. STL ($7,500): Vejmelka has come out on top during four of his last five starts to put him in a tie for the league lead with Scott Wedgewood at 19 wins while his 2.65 GAA represents a personal-best. Vejmelka will take on a Blues team Friday ranked last for scoring at only 2.50 goals per game.
VALUE PLAY
Warren Foegele, LA at WPG ($3,700): Foegele may only have six goals and an assist overall, but skates in the top-six and on LA's second power play while Anze Kopitar is out. He also provides value coming in at a low salary while also producing enough shots and hits.
FORWARD LINE STACK
Capitals at Blackhawks
Alex Ovechkin (W - $6,700), Dylan Strome (C - $6,300), Anthony Beauvillier (W - $4,400)
Ovechkin potted a pair of goals on Monday and another Wednesday after only getting one from the previous 14 outings. Strome enjoyed a career campaign last year with 82 points and is currently at 33 after slightly struggling. Beauvillier fills out the trio while only managing eight goals and six assists so far, but has been known to go on a streak and holds value averaging more than two shots a night.
DEFENSEMAN
Cam Fowler, STL at UTA ($3,800): Fowler has notched eight assists on the power play. He's up to 15 points on the season and should start producing more considering his shooting percentage is at a career-low 1.7.
