SLATE PREVIEW
There are eight games in the NHL on Friday. Vegas travels to Toronto, St. Louis plays in Dallas, Chicago hosts Tampa Bay, Calgary is home to Washington, Philadelphia goes to Colorado, Seattle welcomes Anaheim, the Rangers head to San Jose and New Jersey travels to Vancouver. Below, you'll find suggested options for crafting an effective lineup.
GOALIES
Andrei Vasilevskiy, TB at CHI ($7,900): Vasilevskiy has been red-hot going 10-0-1 in his last 11 starts. The Lightning will be on the first leg of a back-to-back against a Blackhawks side that played on Thursday. And if Vasilevskiy doesn't get the call for Friday, go with Jonas Johansson.
Joseph Woll, TOR vs. VGK ($7,600): Woll will face a Vegas team that almost came back from a four-goal deficit on Thursday. He was outstanding Wednesday as he turned aside 39 shots, albeit in an OT loss. Woll has gone 11-5-4 with a 2.85 GAA and a .911 save percentage through 21 appearances.
VALUE PLAYS
Matt Duchene, DAL vs. STL ($4,700): Duchene hasn't managed a point through his last four games, but recorded two goals four assists from the previous seven. While he's slipped this season, don't forget he produced 82 points last year and regularly teams up with Wyatt Johnston.
Brock Boeser, VAN vs. NJ ($4,700): Boeser snapped a 21-game goalless streak last week with two markers and an assist in his last four outings. He's still well-positioned within the Vancouver lineup while averaging 3:42 on the power play.
FORWARD LINE STACKS
Avalanche vs. Flyers
Victor Olofsson (W - $4,900), Nathan MacKinnon (C - $8,700), Martin Necas (W - $7,600)
Colorado's top line is led by MacKinnon at 85 points, including 24 across 12 appearances where he's notched at least three six times. Necas has registered 22 goals and 38 assists while Olofsson has contributed four points during his last five contests. All three participate on the Avs' lead man-advantage.
Kraken vs. Ducks
Jared McCann (W - $6,000), Matty Beniers (C - $5,600), Jordan Eberle (W - $5,700)
Beniers has returned to the form he showed as a rookie season when he posted 57 points as he's provided seven goals and seven assists in his last 16 games, including five PPPs. McCann has racked up 13 points over his last 13 while Eberle has seven goals and four assists during his last 14. You'll get decent value if you stack this trio.
DEFENSEMEN
Cale Makar, COL vs. PHI ($7,400): Makar is the NHL's top offensive defenseman at 54 points where his outstanding play fits in nicely on Friday with the aforementioned Nathan MacKinnon line.
Dougie Hamilton, NJ at VAN ($4,900): Hamilton is back as Jersey's No. 1 blueliner after Luke Hughes went down with a shoulder injury. His offense should pick up against a weak Vancouver squad while providing a bargain option if you can't fit in Cale Makar's salary.
