SLATE PREVIEW
There are five games in the NHL on Friday. Carolina plays in Florida, Vancouver travels to Long Island to play the Islanders, Colorado is home to Winnipeg, New Jersey is in Utah and Anaheim hosts Dallas. Below, you'll find suggested options for crafting an effective lineup.
GOALIES
Casey DeSmith, DAL at ANA ($7,700): Jake Oettinger received the call in San Jose on Thursday, so Smith should start Friday. He's been outstanding this season going 8-1-3 with a 2.13 GAA and .923 save percentage across 12 starts.
Ilya Sorokin, NYI vs. VAN ($7,800): Sorokin saw his five-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday in Detroit, but has still managed a 12-9-2 record with a 2.52 GAA and .910 save percentage overall.
VALUE PLAYS
Jesper Bratt, NJD at UTAH ($5,600): Bratt hasn't been as productive as recent seasons, but is still worth adding - especially at this salary. He's been playing without Jack Hughes, yet still has six goals and 23 assists.
Matt Duchene, DAL at ANA ($4,700): Duchene got back on the scoresheet Monday with a goal and assist after being sidelined for 24 games. He also skates in the top-six and did well last year by tallying 30 goals and 52 assists.
FORWARD LINE STACKS
Mammoth vs. Devils
Clayton Keller (W - $6,800), Nick Schmaltz (W - $6,500), JJ Peterka (W - $5,700)
The Mammoth's top line is led by Schmaltz at 12 goals and 31 points, one more than Keller in each category. Peterka has been a fine addition since being acquired from Buffalo during the offseason with 13 goals and 13 assists.
Avalanche vs. Jets
Gabriel Landeskog (W - $5,000), Brock Nelson (C - $5,900), Valeri Nichushkin (W - $5,800)
Colorado's second unit has been hot of late with Nelson racking up 10 goals and seven assists from his last 17 games. Landeskog is regaining his form after missing three seasons while contributing nine points across 11 appearances. Nichushkin has posted three goals and three assists over his last seven.
DEFENSEMEN
Cale Makar, COL vs. WPG ($7,500): Makar is on a seven-game scoring streak where he's provided a goal and seven assists. He's also averaging 4:36 on the power play, where he's totaled 11 points.
Zeev Buium, VAN at NYI ($4,300): Buium received a huge fantasy boost moving to Vancouver and immediately contributed during his debut on Sunday with a goal and assist on the man-advantage after picking up seven PPPs while with the Wild.
