NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Top Plays and Strategy for Monday, January 26

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

We know the two Super Bowl teams, but it's not Sunday anymore! It's Monday, and it's time to look at the NHL schedule for DFS purposes. You have a couple weeks before you really need to focus in on football again. There are five NHL games on the slate Monday, most of them starting at 7 p.m. EST. Onto the lineup recommendations.

SLATE PREVIEW

One team is on the second leg of a back-to-back. The Ducks, bottom five in GAA, are visiting the Oilers. A few teams are on the first leg of a back-to-back. I'm imagining the Bruins will go with Jeremy Swayman in a conference matchup Monday, though, and it's entirely possible Karel Vejmelka will start both games for the Mammoth given how often he plays.

GOALIES

Jet Greaves, CLM vs. LOS ($7,500): Greaves' last start didn't go great, aside from picking up a win, but he had to face the Lightning. He still has a .908 save percentage on the season, not to mention a .915 save percentage over his last 13 outings. The Kings are decidedly not the Lightning offensively. They have managed a paltry 2.60 goals per game.

Ilya Sorokin, NYI at PHI ($7,400): Already considered one of the best goalies in the NHL, Sorokin is having a particularly good campaign. The Russian netminder has a 2.51 GAA and .914 save percentage. While the Flyers are just outside the bottom 10 at 2.98 goals per game, they have managed a mere 25.9 shots on net per contest.

VALUE PLAYS/ONE-OFFS

Zach Hyman, EDM vs. ANA ($7,600): Stacking an Oilers line can always be a bit tricky to work around, given the salaries of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. This is definitely a matchup to want a piece of, though. The Ducks are in the bottom five in GAA, and they have a below-average penalty kill as well. Plus, as noted, they are on the road for the second day of a back-to-back. Hyman spends basically all his time next to McDavid, and he has 20 goals on 109 shots on net through 34 contests.

Kevin Fiala, LOS at CLM ($5,800): Though I'd roster Greaves against the Kings, the defense in front of Greaves has not made life easy on him. Columbus has allowed 30.7 shots on net per game. Fiala is tied with Adrian Kempe with 139 shots on target through 50 games. He also has four games with a goal and an assist in his last 12 contests.

FORWARD LINE STACK TO CONSIDER

Bruins at Rangers

Pavel Zacha, Viktor Arvidsson, Casey Mittelstadt

The Rangers are in a rough situation until Igor Shesterkin is able to return. Jonathan Quick has an .890 save percentage over the last two seasons. However, since he's had to step out of the backup role and into the primary role, Quick has a 5.40 GAA and .801 save percentage in seven appearances. I've opted for Boston's second line in this stack.

Zacha has 10 points in his last 10 games. Also, while he only has one goal in his last six outings, he's put 16 shots on net in that time. Since returning from an injury absence, Arvidsson has five goals and seven assists in 15 games. However, he's also tallied 47 shots on net in that time, so his 10.7 shooting percentage shows he hasn't even been terribly lucky to be that productive. In his first full season with the Bruins, Mittelstadt has seemingly found his form in the lineup. He's notched nine points over his last 12 outings.

DEFENSEMEN

Jake Walman, EDM vs. ANA ($4,700): Evan Bouchard is coming off a six-point game, but to try and save you some salary, I'd like to throw Walman into the mix. Since returning from injury he has four points, 18 shots on net, and 12 blocked shots in seven contests. Walman has notched multiple shots on goal in all seven of those games. It's worth seeing if you can save some salary on a defenseman given the matchup. The Ducks, as noted, have a bottom-five GAA and are on the second night of a back-to-back.

Tony DeAngelo, NYI at PHI ($4,100): With DeAngelo, it's kind of all or nothing. He's only gotten on the scoresheet in three of his last nine games, but in all three of those games he tallied multiple points. The journeyman also has two outings with five shots on goal in that time. Philly doesn't allow a lot of shots, but that doesn't mean as much with Dan Vladar on injured reserve. Samuel Ersson has a career 3.05 GAA and .884 save percentage.
