SLATE PREVIEW
There are five games on the NHL slate Friday. Carolina travels to Florida, the Islanders host Vancouver, Winnipeg is in Colorado, New Jersey travels to Utah and a tired Dallas team plays in Anaheim. Below, you'll find suggested options for crafting an effective lineup.
GOALIES
Scott Wedgewood, COL vs. WPG ($8,200): Wedgewood has been sensational this season with a 14-1-4 record alongside a 2.11 GAA and .920 save percentage. He's sharing the Colorado starts with Mackenzie Blackwood and is set to face a Jets team on Friday that's only scored 22 goals through nine December games.
Lukas Dostal, ANA vs. DAL ($7,400): Dostal will take on the Stars after they won on Thursday in San Jose. He was sharp in his last outing turning aside 26 shots in a 4-1 victory over the Rangers. On the year, Dostal is 12-6-1 with a 2.73 GAA and .905 save percentage.
VALUE PLAYS
Chris Kreider, ANA vs. DAL ($4,900): Kreider has gone scoreless in his last five appearances and is due to break out as he's racked up 13 goals and eight assists, including six and three on the power play.
Evander Kane, VAN at NYI ($4,000): Kane has posted 16 points with 80 shots, 57 hits and 44 PIM. That type of production makes him a decent salary saver to fill out your lineups.
FORWARD LINE STACKS
Avalanche vs. Jets
Nathan MacKinnon (C - $10,000), Artturi Lehkonen (W - $5,600), Gavin Brindley (W - $3,400)
MacKinnon is tied with Connor McDavid for the scoring lead at 58 points and tops the league at a plus-43. Lehkonen has three goals in his last four games to give him 13 overall to go with 15 assists. Brindley has notched a goal and assist over the last three outings since missing 10 with a lower-body injury.
Mammoth vs. Devils
Barrett Hayton (C - $3,400), Dylan Guenther (W - $6,600), Lawson Crouse (W - $3,500)
This line is led by Guenther, who's been red-hot of late with seven goals and from his last nine appearances with 16 goals and 12 assists overall 28 points. Crouse hasn't found the scoresheet during his last three games, but still has 14 points on the year. Hayton has taken over for Logan Cooley (lower body) on this unit while registered a power-play goal and assist over his last six outings.
DEFENSEMEN
Seth Jones, FLA vs. CAR ($4,500): Jones has come on of late with a pair of goals and four assists from his last seven games. He's also produced 10 points on the power play this season.
Alexander Nikishin, CAR at FLA ($2,900): Nikishin is riding a four-game scoring streak with a goal and three helpers. The rookie blueliner has four goals and nine assists overall and comes in at a very reasonable salary for your Friday DFS lineups.
