Sami Valimaki

27-Year-Old Golfer

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Valimaki was in danger of losing his status with three events to go but sprung into action, finishing T2 at the World Wide Technology Championship and later won the season-ending RSM Classic for his maiden Tour victory. That moved him up to 40th in the OWGR and will solidify his first trip to Augusta National in addition to at least the first two Signature Events of 2026. The 27-year-old will be entering his third year on Tour, and he stands out with well above average accuracy, iron play and putting. His lack of distance and poor around the green play can cause him to struggle on longer and tougher venues, however. Even so, there aren't many players that will be feeling more confident following a strong second half of the year. Read Past Outlooks
Wins The RSM Classic
November 23, 2025
Valimaki fired a final round four-under 66 to claim the victory at The RSM Classic by one stroke.
ANALYSIS
Valimaki entered Sunday's action with a two-shot lead, and he got off to a good start with two birdies in the first four holes. Holding a one shot lead with three holes to play, he made a crucial 18-foot par putt on the 16th hole and two-putted his way to victory on the 72nd hole to win by one. Valimaki gained shots in every strokes gained category for the week, most notably ranking sixth in SG: Putting and second in birdies made. The championship secures his Tour card through 2027, and the 27-year-old is also qualified for the first two signature events next year.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Valimaki picked up his second DP World Tour win at the Qatar Masters after prevailing in a playoff over Jorge Campillo. That was one of seven top-11 finishes for the Fin to help him lock up a PGA Tour card for 2024. Valimaki was just 29th in SG: Total on the DPWT last season so there is certainly still room to grow across the board at age 25. Retaining his card for 2025 would be a great achievement for this young player.
