Illness
January 21, 2026
Penge is recovering from a viral infection and is hoping to make his 2026 season debut at the Farmers Insurance Open next week, Michael Weston of Golf Monthly reports.
ANALYSIS
Penge signed an equipment deal with PXG in the offseason after he earned a PGA Tour card via the DP World Tour Top 10. Penge finished the 2025 season second in the Race to Dubai Standings behind Rory McIlroy. Penge won three times in 2025 and many are high on the 27-year-old's prospects at competing on the PGA Tour. Many DP World Tour players have struggled to get adjusted to the PGA Tour over the last few years, but it feels like Penge's talent may be too much to hold down. First things first is getting over this illness and Penge said he expects to start hitting balls this week to prep for Torrey Pines.
