Li shot a one-under 70 in the final round to finish in a share of fourth place at The Open Championship.
ANALYSIS
After missing the cut at the Scottish Open last week, Li was able to brush that off and get right back to the strong ball-striking he showed throughout much of 2025 on the DP World Tour. He ended up claiming a spot in the final pairing alongside Scottie Scheffler on Sunday and really seemed to embrace the challenge. Li opened with a birdie at the first hole, but then gave it right back on the par-5 2nd. That was a bit of the story of his final round, unfortunately, but late birdies at 15 and 17 did help him earn a top-4 finish, and with that an invite to the 2026 Masters. Li had not played in a major since 2022 prior to this week, and hadn't made a cut since the 2020 PGA Championship. Safe to say the 29-year-old has gained a lot of confidence and he will hope to close the season strong on the DP World Tour and earn a PGA Tour card for 2026.
