Chris Gotterup

26-Year-Old Golfer
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Gotterup got off to a slow start in 2025 as he missed the cut in 8 of his first 12 starts. He started to find his groove as the season went on racking up eight top-30s over his next nine starts. Then the true breakout happened. Gotterup stared down Rory McIlroy in the final group on Sunday at the Scottish Open and picked up his second PGA Tour victory. He rode that momentum into The Open Championship next week and finished solo third. After a T10 the following week at the 3M Open, there was a lot of talk about putting Gotterup on the Ryder Cup team. The FedExCup playoffs were mostly a disappointment, however, and Gotterup would get passed up on by U.S. Captain Keegan Bradley. Nevertheless, Gotterup's play over the second half of the 2025 season leaves plenty of reason for optimism going into 2026. He was arguably the best driver on the PGA Tour over that time, and also saw huge strides in his iron play, short game and putting. If Gotterup is able to put it all together for a full season, the potential is certainly there for him to one day become a top player on Tour. Read Past Outlooks
Falls to T18 at Arnold Palmer
March 8, 2026
Gotterup posted a four-over 76 during the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational to finish in a six-way tie for 18th.
ANALYSIS
While he was never in contention for a third PGA Tour victory of the season, Gotterup entered the final round in the top-10 of the leaderboard, but he dropped down to a share of 18th after a bogey on the par-5 16th hole and a double on the par-3 17th. He ranked sixth in the field in driving distance, T15 in GIR and in the top-25 SG: Approach and SG: Around-the-Green, though he finished near the bottom in driving accuracy (49th). Gotterup is fourth in the FedExCup Standings heading into THE PLAYERS Championship next week, where he missed the cut in his lone appearance at TPC Sawgrass in 2025.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Gotterup made three consecutive cuts at the PGA Tour level during the fall series in 2022, but he'll become a full-time cardholder for the first time in 2024 thanks in large part to 14 total top-25s on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023. The University of Oklahoma product already exhausted his rookie eligibility with eight starts in 2021-22, when he notably tied for fourth at the John Deere Classic. Gotterup led the KFT in driving distance this past season, while also ranking top-10 in GIR percentage and birdie average.
