2025 Fantasy Outlook
It was a very slow start to 2025 for Young, but he turned himself into one of the top Americans in the second half of the year. Young racked up eight top-12 finishes after the start of May, which included getting that elusive first PGA Tour victory at the Wyndham Championship. That confidence stayed with him throughout the FedExCup Playoffs and into the Ryder Cup where he was one of the bright spots for the U.S. Team. The talent has been apparent ever since the 28-year-old came on Tour back in 2022. It seems like Young was finally able to put his whole game together, as he consistently gained strokes across the board after that breakthrough win. The upside is very high here, but we probably need to see a longer stretch of consistent iron play before Young can enter the conversation amongst the fantasy golf elites. The driving and putting combination remains one of the most lethal on Tour, however. Read Past Outlooks

March 8, 2026
Young posted a bogey-free, three-under 69 during the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational to finish tied with Ludvig Aberg for third.
ANALYSIS
Young opened the tournament nicely with a five-under 67 opening round, though his momentum stalled Friday with a one-over 73 that ended with back-to-back bogeys on holes 17 and 18. He rebounded over the weekend with a 67-69 scorecard, which was enough for him to earn his first top-5 finish of the 2026 Tour season in what was his best finish since his victory at the Wyndham Championship in July. Young led the field in both SG: Off-the-Tee and driving accuracy, ranked second in both driving distance and GIR, sixth in birdies made and in the top-20 in SG: Approach and SG: Putting. Next up is THE PLAYERS Championship, where Young has made the cut in each of his last three outings, though he's failed to finish better than T51 in any of his four appearances at TPC Sawgrass.

Young is one of the rare PGA Tour players that played in every elevated event this past season but saw his earnings go down. The reasons for that are two-fold. First, Young set the bar rather high in the previous season when he topped $6 million in earnings. The second reason is that he hit a bit of a rut between the Masters and the Open Championship. The good news is that he posted a top-10 at the Open Championship and played fairly well during the FedEx playoffs. Whatever the reason for the drop off, Young is far too talented to write him off for the upcoming season. His lowered number also makes him an interesting selection in salary cap leagues.
Young put together one of the best rookie seasons in recent memory. He was not able to find the winner's circle, but he notched a whopping seven top-three finishes, two of which came in majors. Young is an amazing driver who ranked second in SG: Off-the-Tee and third in driving distance last season. His short game and putting were also both impressive considering how far he hits the ball. Young was 15th in SG: Total and 16th in scoring average. After seriously considering a jump to LIV Golf, Young was able to come to his senses and realize the opportunities he is going to have in front of him playing for some of the biggest trophies in golf. The 25-year-old has the type of game and swing to be successful on the PGA Tour for years to come.
Young became a back-to-back champion on the Korn Ferry Tour this year when he won the AdventHealth Championship and the Evans Scholars Invitational in late May, tallying a combined score of 37-under par throughout those eight consecutive sub-70 rounds. He missed the cut in two PGA Tour appearances, however, failing to advance to the weekend at the Farmers Insurance Open and U.S. Open. Nonetheless, Young was eighth on the KFT in driving distance and 25th in birdie average.
