2025 Projections
Being dealt to Jets
The Titans agreed to terms Thursday on a trade that will send Sweat to the Jets in exchange for Jermaine Johnson, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Sweat and Johnson are both ascending talents on the defensive line whose talents will better suit the schemes of their new teams, especially with New York having traded former defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys midway through the 2025 campaign. A 2024 second-round pick, Sweat was productive across his 12 regular-season appearances with Tennessee in his second pro campaign, recording 34 tackles (16 solo), including 2.0 sacks, plus one pass defensed. He also tallied 18 quarterback pressures. He will pair with Harrison Phillips to anchor New York's interior defensive line in 2026.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Sweat is a throwback to a former era of football, as he stands at a hulking 6-5 and 366 pounds. There's really only one role for a player of that size, which is to plug the middle of the trenches and occupy multiply offensive lineman in the process, and he should do that plenty after being selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Sweat did show the ability to get into the backfield in college, though that may not translate to the pros, limiting his appeal from a fantasy perspective - particularly as a rookie.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Viewed as part of defensive core
The Titans did not have interest in trading Sweat due to his importance to the future of the defense, NFL reporter Jordan Schultzreports.
ANALYSIS
Schultz didn't specify which teams made offers for Sweat, but he did indicate there was significant interest around the league. The second-year defensive tackle has been productive when healthy, logging a pair of sacks among his 13 total tackles across four games this season. Given that he still has two additional years left on his rookie contract, it's not a significant surprise that the Titans wanted to keep him.
