2025 Fantasy Outlook
Character concerns dropped Burton to 80th overall in the 2024 Draft, following a college career in which he topped 400 yards in four straight seasons for Georgia and Alabama. Unfortunately, his pro career may already be on the ropes after he failed to gain a foothold during his rookie season. There were multiple reports last year about the Bengals being frustrated, and Burton didn't even travel with the team for a Week 18 game at Pittsburgh. If he can get things straightened out, Burton has the talent to emerge as a capable No. 3 receiver alongside Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in Cincinnati's high-flying offense. Burton has 4.45 speed and decent size (6-feet, 196 pounds), which makes him both smaller and slower than incumbent No. 3 receiver Andrei Iosivas, but with superior agility and route-running instincts to potentially make up for it. Either way, the No. 3 job isn't likely to entail many targets when Chase and Higgins both are healthy. Read Past Outlooks

Ruled out for Sunday

December 6, 2025
Burton (undisclosed) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Bills, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Burton did not travel to Buffalo with the team and was ruled out for a non-injury-related reason. The 2024 third-rounder has yet to play in a game this season, including the Week 12 game against the Patriots without Ja'Marr Chase and the Week 13 game against the Ravens without Tee Higgins. Burton was cleared of an ankle injury Wednesday, but he will once again not see the field.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Bengals used a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL to select Burton, a deep threat at both Georgia and Alabama who ran a 4.45-second 40-yard dash at the combine. He topped 400 receiving yards in each of his four collegiate seasons, yet never reached 800 while mostly playing in run-first offenses. In Cincinnati, the rookie likely will have to settle for an opportunity to compete for the No. 3 receiver job. Ja'Marr Chase is back as the unquestioned No. 1, and the Bengals don't seem inclined to trade Tee Higgins even if contract negotiations remain at a standstill. If Burton wins the No. 3 job, he won't necessarily be slot-based the way Tyler Boyd was in recent seasons, as both Chase and Higgins are more than capable working inside. At 6-0, 196 pounds, Burton might fit better on the perimeter, where he can challenge defenses downfield without seeing a large number of targets. Any hope for considerable target volume probably entails Chase or Higgins missing time.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Showing flashes in training camp
WRCincinnati Bengals
July 26, 2025
Burton had a strong performance during team drills in Friday's practice and has drawn praise from teammates and coaches in the early portions of training camp, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports
ANALYSIS
The 2024 third-rounder had an underwhelming rookie campaign, finishing with four catches on 14 targets for 107 yards across 14 regular-season games. It's hard to see many targets when you're on the same team as Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, but Burton received praise from coaches for his progression during the offseason, which has translated into a strong start to training camp. Burton will look to establish a larger role for himself in the Bengals' offense in 2025, with Andrei Iosivas representing his main competition for the WR3 job behind Chase and Higgins.
