Re-signing with Chiefs
Kelce has agreed to terms on a new deal with the Chiefs, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
After weighing his options this offseason, Kelce now is on track to play his 14th season with the Chiefs. While his 76-851-5 output in 17 regular-season games last season doesn't match his peak numbers with Kansas City, the 36-year-old remains a key cog in his team's passing attack, and in turn should maintain fantasy utility in 2026. Per Schefter, Kelce's new pact is a one-year, $12 million deal that has a maximum value of $15 million.

Kelce came 16 yards shy of an eighth consecutive 1,000-yard season in 2023, then regressed further in 2024, down to 823 yards and three TDs - his lowest totals since a one-game rookie campaign in 2013. Unlike the year before, Kelce failed to step up in the playoffs, adding 175 yards and one touchdown in three games. The 35-year-old's declining production led to whispers of retirement in the offseason, but Kelce was quick to announce he'd play another year. Despite his downward trajectory, there's still a lot to like regarding Kelce's usage patterns, as he led all TEs with 26 red-zone targets in 2024. His 133 targets overall were third most at his position, and at least 35 more than every other pass catcher on the Chiefs. Given Kelce's chemistry with Patrick Mahomes and ongoing uncertainty over the availability and efficacy of KC's WR corps, there's still some value that can be squeezed out now that Kelce's being drafted as just another fantasy TE1 rather than THE TE1.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Excited for reunion with former OC
Kelce has yet to give an official answer on whether he'll continue playing in 2026, but on a recent episode of his New Heights podcast he seemed very excited about the possibility of working with offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy again, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. "I can't wait to see him back in the building, man," Kelce said. "He's one of my favorite coaches of all time, one of my favorite people of all time. I've had so many unbelievable growing moments under him as a player, as a person, and I just love the guy."
ANALYSIS
Bieniemy was Kansas City's OC from 2018 through 2022, and his final year with the team was the last time Kelce topped 1,000 receiving yards in a season. Bieniemy was brought back this offseason to replace Matt Nagy, giving Kelce another reason to run it back. Talks between the veteran tight end, who is a free agent this offseason, and the KC front office are expected to take place soon.
