Tallies 21 tackles with Philly
SPhiladelphia Eagles
February 15, 2026
Epps recorded 21 tackles (18 solo) while playing 12 regular-season games during the 2025 campaign.
ANALYSIS
Epps joined the Eagles after playing just three games for the Raiders in 2024. He played almost exclusively on special teams over the first eight weeks and then missed four games on IR with a shoulder injury, but the 30-year-old finished the season in a starting role after rookie Andrew Makuba went down with an ankle issue. Epps has played 15 regular-season games over the past two seasons, and he is set to become a free agent this offseason.

Epps might not have lived up to the two-year, $12 million contract he signed with the Raiders last offseason prior to his first campaign with the team, but he provided the secondary with much-need veteran leadership en route to 66 tackles (41 solo), three passes defensed, one forced fumble and a recovery. The steady 28-year-old is slated to retain a starting role at safety in 2024 next to Tre'von Moehrig, who took a big leap last season in Epps' presence.
Epps was a steady force at safety for the NFC champion Eagles in 2022, logging 1,058 defensive snaps as he amassed 94 tackles (70 solo) and six passes defensed in 17 regular season games. Epps' performance earned the 2019 sixth rounder a two-year, $12 million contract with the Raiders in free agency, so he's expected to start at strong safety next to Trevon Moehrig.
Epps only started three games last season, but the 2019 sixth-round pick made an impact nonetheless. He played 59 percent of the team's defensive snaps and recorded 62 tackles, good for sixth-most on the team. He also added one interception and five passes defended. His role remains uncertain heading into this season, as he's competing with Jaquiski Tartt for a starting nod, but he's shown that he can contribute to a defense even when coming off the bench.
