Which Week 15 NFL Games Are To Close To Call?
The
New England Patriots are in a very different place than they were in early October.
On Oct. 5, the Pats upset the Buffalo Bills 23-20 on the road after entering the game as an 8-point underdog with BetMGM Sportsbook.
New England improved to 3-2 with that victory at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, handing the Bills their first loss. Still, few at the time would have thought that the Patriots were a threat to end Buffalo's five-year reign as AFC East champions.
Now New England is 11-2, tied with the Denver Broncos for the best record in the NFL. The Pats have won 10 consecutive games after a 1-2 start and quarterback Drake Maye is second in NFL Most Valuable Player odds.
The
Bills, meanwhile, have struggled at times, losing four out of nine games since their 4-0 start. Buffalo's offense is still explosive, but the defense has shown some cracks recently and ranks in the middle of the pack (No. 14) in scoring defense, allowing 22.5 points per game.
QB and reigning MVP Josh Allen is still producing at an elite level, passing for an average of 237.1 yards a game. That puts him on pace for his fifth career 4,000-yard passing season. Allen has also thrown for 22 touchdowns and run for 12 more, giving him three consecutive seasons with double digits in rushing scores.
At DraftKings Sportsbook, the Bills (9-4) are slight -115 moneyline favorite to win Sunday's rematch (1 p.m. Eastern, CBS) and get within a game of New England in the division race. AI also projects this as an even matchup, with an even split after 10 simulated games.
The other 5-5 matchup this week is the Baltimore Ravens at the Cincinnati Bengals, as both fight to stay alive in the playoff chase and try to catch the Pittsburgh Steelers atop the AFC North.
Are There Any Other Projected Close Games In Week 15?
One of the biggest surprises in the league this season, the
Carolina Panthers, are one of two teams with a projected 6-4 edge this weekend.
The Panthers are a 2.5-point road favorite with FanDuel Sportsbook and several other sportsbook operators to defeat the woeful Saints on Sunday (4:25 p.m., FOX) in New Orleans. Carolina hasn't had a winning season or been to the playoffs since 2017, when the team went 11-5 under coach Ron Rivera and lost in the wild-card round.
Now the Panthers (7-6) are tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers atop the NFC South and have their destiny in their hands, as the two teams meet twice in the final three weeks of the season.
Also, the Houston Texans have a projected 6-4 edge over the visiting Arizona Cardinals this week.

Week 15 NFL AI Projections Q&A
Q: How did ChatGPT simulate NFL Week 15 games?
A: RotoWire ran 10 simulations for every Week 15 matchup using ChatGPT, with rosters updated as of Dec. 10, 2025. Each game produced projected scores, a winner, and a calculated average margin of victory (MOV). This allowed us to compare not only who wins most often but also how decisively they win.
Q: Which teams dominated the ChatGPT simulations?
A: The simulations showed three teams as truly dominant: The 49ers, Eagles and Jaguars, each going 10-0 with double-digit average margins of victory. Several others, such as the Seahawks, Rams, Broncos, Giants, Cowboys, Steelers and Bears, consistently won most simulations with solid average victory margins. These teams clearly separated themselves from the rest in terms of projected strength and consistency.
Q: What were the closest or most balanced matchups in the simulations?
A: The most balanced matchups were Ravens vs. Bengals and Bills vs. Patriots, both finishing in perfectly even 5-5 splits, indicating no clear advantage on either side. A few other games, like Panthers vs. Saints (6-4 Carolina) and Texans vs. Cardinals (6-4 Houston), were relatively close as well, suggesting competitive matchups where small in-game swings could change the outcome. Overall, these games stood out as the most evenly matched compared to the more lopsided results elsewhere.
