San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles Betting Picks This Week
Offensively, the Eagles have been an inconsistent team all year. The line has not played at an elite level, causing Saquon Barkley to have a much less productive year than he had in 2025. From a coaching standpoint, coordinator Kevin Patullo has been unable to maximize the passing game weapons. Aside from A.J. Brown winning matchups on his own, Facing a 49ers defense that is both weak against the run and the pass while having an uninspiring pass rush, on paper, this is a great spot for the Eagles offense. However, 49ers' defensive coordinator Robert Saleh is likely to drop plenty of defenders into zone coverage, which has often been a major issue for Jalen Hurts. It would be great to think with all of the talent that the Eagles can just flip a switch and look like last year's unit. That seems improbable. Yes, Philly will score some points, but don't expect them to light up the scoreboard.
It's tough to question that the Eagles have one of the better defenses in the league. They have limited a number of strong offenses throughout the season. That said, Philadelphia has issues at their second cornerback and safety spots. They'll be facing coach Kyle Shanahan, who is a master at finding mismatches and hammering those weaknesses. Both George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey should have great success as pass catchers. Also, Brock Purdy is excellent at extending plays when the opposing pass rush creates pressure. Expect the 49ers to have success moving the football.
Yes, the Eagles have a better roster. They also have the superior defense. However, the 49ers offense seems much better positioned for a big day.
I predict the 49ers win 29-23.
