Telly Johnson

Northern Illinois ran an almost three-man attack in 2024, utilizing Gavin Williams, Antario Brown and Telly Johnson. Johnson eventually surged in the latter half of his freshman season, logging 103 carries for 480 yards and four touchdowns in the Huskies' last six games. Out of the three, Johnson is the lone ranger set to don a Huskies uniform this fall, and he could be primed for a big season. Johnson will now compete with sophomore Jaylen Poe and DII breakout star Chavon Wright for ball carrier duties, but Johnson still seems bound for the lead role. Look for Johnson to take on a larger role in 2025in his second year, though just how large it is will depend on how much he can separate himself from the other backs in the room.
