2024 Fantasy Outlook
Joyner projects as a true three-down back for the Red Raiders after spending his first two seasons at USC. He flashed his explosive potential with a 75-yard touchdown run against Penn State in Week 7 of the 2024 season. Joyner will need to beat out teammates J'Koby Williams, Cameron Dickey, and Cam'Ron Valdez for the starting role in the backfield. Whoever does step into the lead role will have to fill big shoes, as Tahj Brooks recorded back-to-back 1,500-yard seasons for the Red Raiders. Texas Tech's offense is expected to play with more tempo and spread formations, which should play well into Joyner's desire for open space as a runner and receiver. In the Red Raiders' dynamic system, Joyner could be primed for a breakout campaign. Read Past Outlooks
Tears ACL, done for 2025
August 18, 2025
Joyner (knee) tore his ACL and will miss the 2025 season, per Pete Nakos of On3.com.
ANALYSIS
Joyner reportedly suffered what was feared to be a season-ending knee injury, and this report that he tore his ACL confirms that the tailback will indeed miss the 2025 season for Texas Tech. This is a brutal blow for the Red Raiders mere days out from the season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Joyner, a USC transfer, was set to be the unquestioned top tailback in Lubbock after a season in which he posted 478 yards and three scores on a healthy 7.6 yards-per-carry clip. J'Koby Williams and Cameron Dickey figure to be the next men up for Texas Tech.

Labeld three-down back by RB coach
April 3, 2025
Running backs coach Garret McGuire called Joyner "a true three-down back" earlier in spring, Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports. "What impresses me most about Quinten is how competitive he is. When he gets that ball, he's looking to go 60 every time he gets it. He's a home-run type hitter," said McGuire.
