2024 Fantasy Outlook
Reed was pushed into a starting role in Week 3 of the 2024 campaign after starter Connor Weigman suffered a shoulder injury and made three starts before Weigman returned in Week 6. A&M gave Reed another opportunity with the ones midway through a Week 9 bout with LSU, and the rising sophomore led an impressive comeback to land the win and claim the starting quarterback job for the remainder of the season. In the eight games Reed started, he averaged 215.4 passing yards and 55.8 rushing yards while totaling 18 touchdowns. Overall, he finished with 1,864 passing yards, a 15:6 TD:INT, 547 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. Weigman transferred to Houston during the offseason, leaving Reed unchallenged for the 2025 starting role. He'll be throwing to a young group of wide receivers, plus NC State transfer KC Concepcion, and he'll have a talented pair of backs behind him in Le'Veon Moss and Rueben Owens. Read Past Outlooks
Struggles in loss
Reed completed 20 of 32 passes for 180 yards and two interceptions during Friday's 27-17 loss to Texas. He also had 12 rushes for 71 yards.
ANALYSIS
The redshirt sophomore quarterback was held in check and hurt by turnovers at critical moments. Given his yardage was limited and interceptions derailed drives, this week marks a step back in consistency. If the Aggies want to bounce back, Reed will need to protect the ball better and produce more explosiveness through the air or on the ground. He closes the regular season by completing 209 of 338 passes (61.8 percent) for 2,932 yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while carrying the ball 89 times for 466 yards and six scores.
