It's never fun to be the guy after the guy, but Moulton could be in a position to thrive in the spotlight. Replacing the production of Kaleb Johnson is certainly a tough task, but Moulton showed flashes of ability in 2024 as a secondary ballcarrier that should give Hawkeye fans reason for optimism, putting together 473 yards and three touchdowns on 5.6 yards per attempt. With South Dakota State transfer Mark Gronowski taking over under center, the Iowa offense could prove more explosive than in years past, allowing Moulton to blossom in his new role at the head of the backfield. Moulton compiled 14 carries for 95 yards and one touchdown and hauled in their only target for two yards during Wednesday's 34-27 victory against Vanderbilt.

Moulton stayed hot in Iowa's ReliaQuest Bowl win over Vanderbilt, dominating the carries for the Hawkeyes and nearing 100 yards on the ground for the second straight game. Moulton had a career year in 2025 as Iowa's lead back, rushing for 878 yards and five scores on 5.2 yards per carry. Should he elect to return to Iowa City, he figures to once again be the top ball-carrier next fall.
