Iowa confirmed Friday that Johnson will sit out the team's upcoming bowl game in order to begin preparations for the 2025 NFL Draft, Eliot Clough of Rivals.com reports.

Johnson had already announced intentions to enter the 2025 NFL Draft after three seasons with the Hawkeyes, so it's not surprising that he'll bypass the bowl game to avoid a potential injury that could hinder him in the pre-draft process. He turned in a stellar 2024 campaign in which he racked up 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground to go with 22 receptions for 188 yards and two more scores in 12 games.
