2023 Fantasy Outlook
Barnes is the frontrunner for what could be the best backfield in the Big 12 Conference. He was fantastic in the team’s bowl game with a career-high 108 yards. The Sooners’ top back from 2022 was Eric Gray who led the conference with 6.41 yards per carry among running backs with at least 50 attempts. Barnes will attempt to repeat that performance in collaboration with Marcus Major and Gavin Sawchuk. Expect all three backs to see some action as Oklahoma likely won’t shy away from utilizing their unique depth at the position. At least one of these guys is going to rush for over 1,000 yards and Barnes is the best bet to do so.
