Burks will run it back with the Sooners for his fifth collegiate season after having his 2024 campaign cut short due to a concussion. In five appearances, he racked up 31 catches for 245 yards and three scores, and he was on track to build on an impressive 2023 season with Purdue, when he caught 47 passes for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. Given his past production, Burks looks like the de facto number one wideout for John Mateer's first season under center with Oklahoma. Mateer threw for 3,139 yards and 29 touchdowns last season with Washington State, where he played under new Oklahoma offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle.
