AJ Green

Green operated chiefly as the backup to fellow sophomore Raheim Sanders last season, though did step up in a big way in the Liberty Bowl against Kansas. In a triple overtime thriller, Sanders suffered a quad injury and was forced to leave the game after just three carries. In his stead, Green managed 13 carries for 99 yards and a touchdown, while also catching four balls for 30 yards out of the backfield, as the Razorbacks outlasted the Jayhawks by a score of 55-53. While Sanders is healthy heading into the 2023 campaign and is expected to resume his role as the lead dog, it is reassuring to know that Green is more than capable of shouldering the rushing load in a pinch. That being said, Rashod Dubinion also remains in the fold and had 71 carries last year as well. In addition, Dubinion had five rushing touchdowns as compared to just three on the ground for Green. As such, there is no guarantee that even when Sanders needs a break that Green will be the recipient of the excess touches.
