Which NCAA Men's Basketball Teams Gained the Most Ground Online?
The nation's leading team when it came to social media growth during the last week – for the second week in a row — was the 
SMU Mustangs.
The ACC squad jumped by 3.801% during the past week, in which SMU went 2-1. The Mustangs defeated Virginia Tech (77-76) on Jan. 14 and Wake Forest (91-79) on Jan. 20; in between, then No. 16 Virginia beat SMU 72-68 in Dallas. Caesars Sportsbook lists SMU (14-5, 3-3) at +30000 odds to win the ACC.
Outside of the DFW region, the nation's top team online this week was 18-0 
Nebraska, one of three undefeated teams in the country.
The Cornhuskers (who are unbeaten along with Arizona and Miami of Ohio), gained 2.228% more followers in a week-over-week comparison.
Nebraska's historic start continued apace last week, with wins over Oregon (90-55) and Northwestern (77-58) at home. That sets the stage for Wednesday's clash at home against Washington and Saturday's road trip to Minnesota.
The Huskers have +4000 odds to win the national title at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Jan. 21.
Other Teams Gaining Social Media Momentum
The other two MBB teams to exceed 2% growth on social media were the Saint Louis Billikens (+2.089%) and the DePaul Blue Demons (+2.040%). The former improved to 6-0 in Atlantic 10 play by beating Richmond (88-63) and Duquesne (81-77) in the past week. DePaul knocked off Marquette, 80-75, on Friday before falling on Tuesday to Butler (87-80) in Indianapolis.
Outside of the top five this week were teams like Miami of Florida (+1.566%), Georgia (+1.510%), BYU (+1.475%), George Mason (+1.340%) and Stanford (+1.071%), which were the only teams to gain at least one percentage point online over the last seven days.
Still, no men's basketball team in the NCAA ranks could hold a candle (online, at least) to the Mustangs of SMU. Coach Andy Enfeld's squad took home the top spot nationally again.
