2024 Fantasy Outlook
As a rookie out of the University of Miami, George stepped into a meaningful rotation role for the Wizards right away, averaging 8.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in 26.5 minutes of action across 68 regular-season appearances. He struggled from beyond the arc (32.2 percent) and showed average efficiency from the field at 37.2 percent, but he added solid free-throw shooting at 75.3 percent. His all-around contributions, particularly 1.0 steals and 0.7 blocks per game, boosted his value in category-based formats, though he still finished just outside the top-200 players in standard nine-category leagues on a per-game basis. The Wizards didn't make any major changes in the frontcourt this offseason, most likely setting up George to be the No. 2 option behind Bilal Coulibaly at power forward with the team built to play small-ball. Playing time should be plentiful once again for George, as it's unlikely the franchise puts too much weight on Khris Middleton and CJ McCollum at this point in their careers. George's high defensive floor, dependable minutes and promising physical profile make him a decent late-round pick in deeper formats, but improving his offensive efficiency will make or break him as a fantasy asset. Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

When George signed with Miami, he stood at 6-foot-5, but the 20-year-old has grown several inches since his 2022-23 campaign with Élan Chalon of the French Pro B League. George was born and raised in Monthey, Switzerland and won FIBA's U16 Euro Championship B in 2019. George's father, Deon, is from Canada and played basketball professionally in Switzerland. It's a relevant red flag that George logged just three dunks across 713 minutes of action, as the 6-foot-7 guard continuing to develop as a finisher would be strongly reinforced with an above-the-rim style. Even still, converting 58.5% of his attempts alongside a potent 42.7% clip off 96 catch-and-shoot 3s creates multi-level scoring upside. George has deep range, advantageous size to release his shot and a handle to create separation at will. Development is needed, however. Among all players with at least 50 pick-and-roll ball handler possessions, George turned the ball over 26.9 percent of the time to rank 835th out of 884 qualifiers. He had similar struggles taking care of the rock and making decisions in transition, but his physical profile and shooting touch are huge pillars to work from. George is not an on-ball hound defensively, but he was a critical component of Miami's defense -with the Hurricanes performing 10.8 points better with George on the court and ranking in the 82nd percentile nationwide in defensive rating during those minutes. George will need additional reps as a ballhandler to adjust to next-level pressure, gain experience orchestrating offense, clean up his handle and capitalize on creating advantages in traffic. Even without the additional reps, George's blend of size and rhythm is rare for a 20-year-old. Becoming an off-ball sniper and second-side weapon in the NBA, such as Amir Coffey, is a projectable outcome barring serious growth as a lead guard.

To be re-evaluated in three weeks

Elbow
March 4, 2026
The Wizards announced Wednesday that George has been diagnosed with a partial tear of the UCL in his left elbow and will be re-evaluated in three weeks.
ANALYSIS
George sustained the injury in Monday's loss to Houston and won't return until late March at the very earliest. With the Wizards sitting at 16-45 on the season, it wouldn't be surprising to see the club exercise extreme caution with the second-year wing for the remainder of the season. With George sidelined, Will Riley, Jamir Watkins (ankle) and Justin Champagnie are candidates for increased minutes.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
George averaged 7.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game as a freshman at Miami and was selected by the Wizards with the 24th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. George can play either as a shooting guard or a small forward, but even if he landed in an excellent situation in a rebuilding franchise in Washington, he faces a steep ahead of him to garner consistent minutes as part of the rotation. George is raw, and while he might have some upside in dynasty formats, he's someone fantasy managers should avoid in standard leagues, even in the deepest ones.

Sets new career-high scoring mark
GWashington Wizards
October 25, 2025
George set a new career-high scoring mark after scoring 34 points in Friday's win over the Mavericks, and he set that outing as his standard for future performances, according to Varun Shankar of the Washington Post. "You get to create what the Wizards are going to be for the future, and I think there's no better space to be as a player than that. I'm just looking forward to stacking those days to just get better, said George.
ANALYSIS
George is making the most of his minutes early in the season, and he's making a strong case to have a breakout campaign in 2025-26 as a second-year player. George appeared in 68 regular-season games with the Wizards in 2024-25, including 38 starts, and he averaged a solid 8.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 26.5 minutes per game.
