George was the No. 16 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and despite flashes of stardom, he's simply been too inefficient and inconsistent. He shot exactly 39.1 percent from the field in each of his first two campaigns and committed 2.7 turnovers per game as a sophomore compared to 2.5 as a rookie. The unreliability led to George losing his starting spot to Isaiah Collier halfway through last season. While George will likely find himself behind Collier again next season, Utah's backcourt depth got some breathing room this offseason. High-usage guards Jordan Clarkson and Collin Sexton are now gone, but the Jazz used their No. 5 overall pick on Ace Bailey and their No. 18 overall pick on Walter Clayton, who led the Florida Gators to the 2025 National Championship. George will certainly get another chance to prove he can be a more well-rounded player, but it could be his last, at least in Utah, as the Jazz hold a $6.5 million team option for 2026-27. With immense upside, George should be taken shortly after pick 110, but he's a safer bet in points leagues, as his poor field-goal percentage could tank a category-league team. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Keyonte George played his only collegiate season at Baylor, where he averaged 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.3 three-pointers per game on his way to Big 12 Rookie of the Year honors. George was also an All-Big 12 Second Team and Big 12 All-Freshman Team selection. George scored in double figures in 23 of 33 appearances for Baylor, topping out with 32 points, to go with seven rebounds, in a win over West Virginia on Jan. 11. George reached the 20-point mark 11 other times on the season, including in games against Norfolk State (Nov. 11) and Kansas State (Feb. 21) when he rained in a career-high six three-pointers. As a high-schooler, George was considered a top-10 prospect and a consensus five-star recruit. A true combo guard who could play both backcourt spots in the NBA, George is a bit of a tweener at 6-foot-4, but his athleticism and body control allow him to create space and get his shot off against bigger defenders. George is an excellent scorer off the dribble, capable of getting to the rim with either hand while also using footwork to generate space. George was a hot-and-cold three-point shooter at Baylor (33.8% 3PT), but he shot nearly 80 percent at the free throw line and projects as a plus floor-spacer at the next level. Like most mid-to-late-lottery prospects, George will require some development, but the tools are there for him to develop into a starting-caliber combo guard in the NBA. In a best-case scenario, George could develop into an All-Star-level talent such as Bradley Beal or Jamal Murray.
Scores 22 points in loss Saturday
GUtah Jazz
March 7, 2026
George finished with 22 points (4-17 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 12-13 FT), two rebounds and four assists over 29 minutes during Saturday's 113-99 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS George had a woeful shooting performance in this game, but the fact that he went 12-for-13 from the charity stripe salvaged his outing from a scoring perspective. The electric floor general was returning from a one-game absence after sitting out the win over the Wizards on Thursday, and this was the third straight game in which he recorded at least 20 points.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
George will enter his first season in the NBA as one of the more intriguing prospects from this class. He spent one year at Baylor prior to being drafted, averaging 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.3 three-pointers per game. He backed up his impressive college stint with a standout performance at the 2023 Summer League. Across six games, he averaged 18.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.8 three-pointers in 26.4 minutes per game. He turned more than a few heads, putting himself on the standard league radar before a ball had even been bounced. The Jazz are certainly not loaded when it comes to viable point guard options. Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson are likely to get the first look at the role, although neither are true point guards. If George is able to build off his strong preseason, he could see an uptick in playing time sooner rather than later. He isn't worth drafting outside of deeper formats but could be a sneaky addition, should he land the starting role at some point.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Meshing well with Hardy
GUtah Jazz
December 2, 2025
George said he's meshing well with head coach Will Hardy, according to Marc Spears of Andscape.
ANALYSIS "Our relationship is on a whole other level now. My exit interview was brutal. Will shot it to me straight," George said. "Will calls me late at night and tells me little things like, 'Play defense,' and then he hangs up. But also, we got to the realization where we have some great dialogue. He doesn't like some stuff, and I try to communicate what I was thinking, and the group was thinking. That is important for me. With the position I'm playing, I'm a second him on the floor. He can't play. So, I'm thinking for the group, trying to execute what he wants every single possession. Our relationship from my first year to now it's completely different." George is in the midst of a breakout season in Utah. Across 20 regular-season appearances, he's averaging 22.8 points, 6.9 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 2.2 three-pointers per contest.
