Recent RotoWire Articles Featuring E.J. Liddell See More
The NBA offseason was filled with plenty of movement, including several shakeups in Chicago. Juan Pablo Aravena analyzes the biggest fantasy-relevant moves from this summer.
Dan Bruno examines Wednesday’s slate of games, and likes Zion Williamson‘s advantageous matchup with the Spurs, who give up a league-high 120.3 points per game.
2023 Fantasy Outlook
After missing his entire rookie season due to a torn ACL, Liddell was able to suit up in the recent Summer League. Across four games, he averaged 12.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 21.3 minutes per contest. He signed a two-way deal with the Pelicans in October 2022, before being converted to a full-time contract in July of this year. Although the team obviously sees enough in him to keep him around for at least the next two years, he is unlikely to be a key piece of the rotation. He remains an intriguing dynasty prospect but won't hold any real value this season.

ANALYSIS Essentially, this means the Suns' trade of David Roddy for Liddell was nothing more than a financially motivated deal. Roddy wasn't on track to be on the team's regular-season roster before leaving Phoenix, and Liddell likely won't make the cut either. Liddell is expected to play for the Suns' G League affiliate in 2024-25.
