2024 Fantasy Outlook
Podziemski underwent surgeries on his wrist and core this offseason, but is expected to be healthy for training camp. Despite a slight boost in points, threes and steals in Year 2, it wasn't the breakout performance many were hoping for from the Santa Clara product. He's been a key part of Golden State's rotation since being drafted outside of the lottery in 2023, but his production and impact fluctuate. In 12 postseason contests last season, Podziemski scored at least 26 points twice and was held to single digits five times, a trend that continued from the regular season. While he has an all-around skill set, he's not elite in any single category, plus he has to scavenge for usage behind Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green. Buddy Hield's hot shooting also puts Podziemski on the back burner at times, and Jonathan Kuminga will be in the mix again after signing an extension. Podziemski has undoubtedly been a valuable fantasy asset at times. However, he's finished outside the top 135 in eight-category leagues in each of his first two campaigns, despite making 138 total regular-season appearances and averaging 26.7 minutes per game. Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Brandin Podziemski has rapidly emerged as a top-60 prospect after averaging just 4.1 minutes per game across 16 contests with Illinois as a freshman. Transferring to Santa Clara led to serious scoring and impressive accolades for Podziemski. Donned the WCC co-Player of the Year, Podziemski averaged 19.9 points on 48/44/77 percent shooting. He's also an elite rebounder for a guard, racking up 8.8 rebounds per game to go along with 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals. Podziemski is a versatile contributor, but the selling point is a smooth stroke from beyond the arc, though his relatively short wingspan will make it tougher to get his shot off in the NBA. Santa Clara has been a reliable NBA pipeline of late, with Jalen Williams illustrating that Podziemski's big numbers aren't just fluff. His shooting is impressive, and he finished with 10 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in his scrimmage at the Combine. Being small in size and stature is a concern for Podziemski, who has demonstrated a knack for initiating contact (4.5 FTA/g). Drawing fouls and canning threes is a good recipe for success if the former can translate. Some combination of rebounding prowess, reliable passing and tolerable defense will also need to translate. That said, Podziemski's shooting sets him up as a bench scorer and sparkplug. A role of 10-15 minutes per night is realistically Podziemski's usage in year one. His rebounding skills are very Josh Hart-esque. Damion Lee comes to mind as another comparison.

After scoring a season-high 24 points in Monday's win over the Heat, Podziemski will join the starting lineup in the absence of Jimmy Butler, who suffered a season-ending torn ACL on Monday. As a starter this season (12 games), Podziemski has averaged 13.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 30.3 minutes per game.
