Best NBA Bets Today

Miami Heat to cover +1.5 points (-112) vs. Orlando Magic

DraftKings, 3:28 PM CT

Alex Barutha: This Magic team can be frisky, but they're just hard to trust with Franz Wagner sidelined and Paolo Banchero playing just his third game since returning. Meanwhile, the Heat are essentially at full health -- something we haven't seen much this season. Coach Erik Spoelstra has also gotten the better of coach Jamahl Mosley lately, with the Heat going 7-3 ATS against the Magic over the past 10 appearances.

Miami Heat moneyline (-102) at Orlando Magic

DraftKings, 3:43 PM CT

Nick Whalen: Miami has dropped three in a row heading into NBA Cup quarterfinal play, including an ugly loss to the Kings on Saturday, but they should have all of their key pieces back in action tonight after Tyler Herro, Norm Powell and Davion Mitchell missed at least one of the three previous games. Meanwhile, Orlando is without Franz Wagner — a significant obstacle to overcome, offensively. These teams are extremely evenly matched, but I lean toward the healthy Heat to win outright, especially with Paolo Banchero remaining on a minutes restriction. I also lean toward the U235.5.

Desmond Bane over 4.5 assists (-117) vs. Miami Heat

DraftKings, 3:43 PM CT

Nick Whalen: With no Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero still on a soft minutes limit, the Magic will turn to Bane as perhaps the co-No. 1 option, offensively. Bane is averaging right around 4.5 assists per game over his last 10 and picks up about an extra assist-and-a-half per 36 minutes with Wagner off the floor. I don't mind targeting Anthony Black O3.5 AST, either.

Wendell Carter over 11.5 Points (-113) vs. Miami Heat

DraftKings, 12:11 PM CT

Ryan Pohle: With Franz Wagner expected to miss 2-4 weeks with an ankle sprain, the Magic will have to look elsewhere with their leading scorer on the bench. Jalen Suggs is a likely beneficiary considering his usage rate spikes nearly seven points with Wagner off the court, but Carter stands to benefit as well. With this being an NBA Cup game, the Magic will go with a short rotation, and Carter should see over 30 minutes. He hasn't been relied on heavily for scoring over the last couple of seasons, but the efficiency is up from last year, and Miami plays at the fastest tempo in the league.
