Best NBA Bets Today (Tuesday, Dec 23)
LaMelo Ball over 7.5 assists (-144) vs. Washington Wizards
FanDuel, 2:19 PM CT
Alex Barutha: Washington is allowing the third-most assists to opponents per 48 minutes across the past 10 games (28.7). Despite Ball's minutes being limited for much of the season, he's still reached 8+ assists in 14 of his 19 appearances, and he's only gone under five assists once in his past eight games (8.4 average). This game is also expected to be played at a blistering pace, with a 239.0 over/under.
Jalen Duren over 10.5 rebounds (-125) at Sacramento Kings
BetMGM, 2:31 PM CT
Alex Barutha: Duren's rebounding can be a bit inconsistent, but he's still averaging 9.4 rebounds across the past nine -- and he's coming off three games with a total of 34 rebounds. Sacramento has struggled on the glass, allowing the fifth-most boards per 48 minutes across the past 10 games (46.6). Over the past 30 days, they've allowed seven performances of 12+ rebounds to individual players -- all of whom were centers except Amen Thompson.
Anthony Black over 1.5 steals (+125) at Portland Trail Blazers
Hard Rock, 2:25 PM CT
Alex Barutha: As a starter, Black is averaging 1.0 steals. This is a good opportunity for him to go above his average, as the Blazers are allowing the most opponent steals per 48 minutes across the past 10 games (11.3). In the past 30 days alone, they've allowed individual performances of 4+ steals to five different players.
New Orleans Pelicans +8.5 at Cleveland Cavaliers (-102)
DraftKings, 4:39 PM CT
Nick Whalen: The Cavs got a home win over the Hornets on Monday night, but they once again failed to cover and are now a league-worst 8-22 ATS. Meanwhile, the Pelicans are an NBA-best 19-10-1 ATS and have won five in a row SU, while covering 10 of their last 11. With Darius Garland questionable, and the Cavs still working through struggles on both ends, we'll grab the 8.5 with New Orleans.
Derik Queen over 14.5 points at Cleveland Cavaliers (-106)
DraftKings, 4:39 PM CT
Nick Whalen: Queen's role can still fluctuate night-to-night, but his workload has been more consistent of late, and he's a big reason the Pelicans are running hot of late. He's gone over this number in five of his last six games and should be able to take advantage of the Cavs' front court without Evan Mobley.
