Kyle Stowers

27-Year-Old OutfielderOF
Miami Marlins
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Stowers was one of Baltimore's top prospects but appeared in just 19 games in 2024 before being dealt to the Marlins at the trade deadline. He quickly joined the big-league club in Miami but finished the season with a .208/.268/.333 slash line and 35.4 percent strikeout rate. He had 18 home runs in 58 Triple-A contests but couldn't find his power in the majors with just three long balls. The swing-and-miss tendencies have been an issue throughout his time in the minors, and his .242 average the past two seasons at Triple-A is also concerning. Stowers should receive plenty of chances to work things out in the majors with the Marlins in 2025, but he's hardly a sure thing to produce despite his prospect pedigree. Read Past Outlooks

The Marlins announced Friday that Stowers (obliques) is continuing a rehab program, but the outfielder doesn't appear on track to return from the 10-day injured list before the end of the season, MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Initially placed on the IL on Aug. 17 due to a Grade 1 left oblique strain, Stowers was cleared to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Sept. 5 but appeared in just one game before suffering an injury to his other oblique. Though both oblique injuries look to be of the mild variety and shouldn't affect his offseason preparation, the Marlins don't have much motivation to rush him back to the field for the final week of the 2025 campaign. Before being shelved, Stowers had been one of the top fantasy breakouts of the season, slashing .288/.368/.544 with 25 home runs, five stolen bases, 73 RBI and 61 runs in 117 games.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Stowers was part of the Orioles' Opening Day roster last season, but he was sent down after a week and ultimately spent the overwhelming majority of his year back at Triple-A Norfolk. The 26-year-old posted an .875 OPS with 17 homers in 68 games with Norfolk, but he struck out at a 27 percent rate there and in 14 contests with the big club went just 2-for-30 at the dish. Stowers remains intriguing because of his power potential, but he's been passed up by some fellow youngsters on the Orioles' outfield depth chart and others are also threatening to leapfrog him. A path to fantasy viability in 2024 might require a trade to a new organization.
Stowers' strong season with Triple-A Norfolk had Orioles fans clamoring for his first taste of the majors. He slashed .264/.357/.527 with 19 home runs and 78 RBI in 95 games at Norfolk, and he ended up logging a .253/.306/.418 line in 99 plate appearances in the majors. He's a corner outfielder, and there's a job to be had in right field if Anthony Santander is deemed a better fit as the designated hitter in 2023. Stowers' power is his most intriguing tool -- he boasted an 11.3 percent barrel rate and 50 percent hard-hit rate in his limited sample with the Orioles in 2022. Barring a bad spring, he should open the year on the strong side of a platoon. Stowers received just four plate appearances and no starts versus left-handers in the majors last year, though he'll eventually have to get a longer look.

No movement on extension
OFMiami Marlins
December 7, 2025
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, Stowers has not received an offer for a contract extension from the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old outfielder is interested in remaining with Miami long term, but the organization apparently isn't in a hurry to extend him.
