2026 Fantasy Outlook
Harrison fell short in his push for the Giants' Opening Day rotation and opened the season at Triple-A Sacramento before being recalled in early May, first working in relief and then shifting back into a starting role. He posted a 4.56 ERA and 1.27 WHIP prior to being sent to the Red Sox in the Rafael Devers trade. After reporting to Triple-A Worcester, he made 12 starts before joining Boston for the final three weeks of the season. His walk rate spiked to 11.8% in the minors as the Red Sox emphasized refining his pitch mix, though his ability to miss bats remained intact. Being traded to the Brewers during the offseason slightly improves his immediate outlook for playing time. Harrison could still be on the outside looking in for a rotation spot, but the back end of Milwaukee's rotation is a bit more unsettled. Even if he opens in the minors, Harrison should get a look in the big-league rotation at some point in 2026. Read Past Outlooks
Hits high note again
Harrison allowed one earned run over 3.0 innings in Sunday's spring game against the Mariners. He gave up two hits, struck out eight batters and walked two.
Analysis
Harrison shined while tossing three frames in an exhibition matchup against the British national team last week, and he did the same Sunday in his first official appearance of the spring. Over the two outings Harrison allowed just one earned run and posted a 10:3 K:BB, so he is making a strong case to break camp with a spot in the big-league rotation.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
2023
2022
During his days in the minors when he became a top prospect, Harrison posted an ugly 12.3 percent walk rate but also a whopping 37.4 percent strikeout rate. Both of those numbers have come way down in the majors, with the lefty issuing walks at just a 7.8 percent clip but also fanning batters at a pedestrian 22.5 percent rate. Harrison's velocity also dipped in 2024 across the board and was down even more from August on when he posted a 7.76 ERA over six starts before he ended the season on the injured list with shoulder inflammation. Because it gets so much horizontal movement after he dropped his arm slot, Harrison's four-seamer still played well in spite of the lesser velocity, with the pitch earning a plus-seven Run Value. That said, the profile on the whole doesn't look as exciting as it did a year ago.
