2026 Fantasy Outlook
Gonzalez just turned 22 in January, but he is already considered close to a bat-only player, which hurts his dynasty value. Limited to left field, where his defense is still below-average, and designated hitter, Gonzalez also bats right-handed and could be limited to short-side platoon work. He slashed .329/.395/.513 with 15 homers, eight steals, an 8.7 percent walk rate and a 14.5 percent strikeout rate in 123 games across High-A, Double-A and Triple-A. His 47.6 percent groundball rate prohibited Gonzalez from getting to all of his 55-grade raw power in games. His 36.1 O-Swing% and 13.8 SwStr% in 34 games at Triple-A were poor marks, but he should improve on those figures in a return to Triple-A. Gonzalez could find stretches of regular playing time over the next few years, but his poor defense and lack of patience at the plate will likely leave his big-league club wanting more. Added to 40-man roster
The Twins selected Gonzalez's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday.
Analysis
Gonzalez worked his way up from High-A to Triple-A by the end of the 2025 season, slashing .329/.395/.513 with 15 homers, 66 RBI, 75 runs scored and eight stolen bases across 549 total plate appearances. The 21-year-old outfielder's breakout campaign will grant him protection from the Rule 5 Draft in the form of a 40-man roster spot, and he may be able to win a place on the Twins' Opening Day roster if he continues to hit well in spring training.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Gonzalez excelled at every stop as an aggressive righty slugger until reaching High-A Everett as a 19-year-old last season. He slashed .348/.403/.530 at Single-A before a low .233 BABIP contributed to a .215/.290/.387 line at High-A. Gonzalez has a bad body for a 20-year-old corner outfielder, and he will need to show a more patient approach against advanced pitching in order to profile toward the bottom of the defensive spectrum.
