Elbow
August 14, 2025
Cason underwent season-ending internal brace surgery on his right elbow earlier this week, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
Analysis
A two-way player, Cason appeared in one game as a designated hitter and one as a pitcher in the rookie-level Florida Complex League back in May and had been sidelined ever since. With surgery deemed necessary to repair the UCL in his right elbow, the 19-year-old won't be ready to pitch in 2026, but he should be ready to take the field as a position player at some point next season.
