2026 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
The No. 3 overall pick in 2024, Condon probably wouldn't go in the top 10 of a redraft at this point, but he figures to make his big-league debut sometime in 2026 and has a chance to be a power-hitting first baseman. He slashed .235/.342/.465 with 11 home runs and a 28.3 percent strikeout rate in 55 games at Double-A and slashed .337/.439/.434 with one home run and a 17.3 percent strikeout rate in 22 Arizona Fall League games. Once a third baseman and corner outfielder, Condon almost exclusively played first base after his promotion from High-A to Double-A, and he should be given every opportunity to lock down the first base job in Colorado long term, given his draft pedigree. He has steadily logged pull rates over 45 percent and groundball rates under 40 percent, so the 6-foot-6 Condon should get to 20-plus homer power if his hit tool is good enough. However, his 70.9 percent contact rate last summer at Double-A is a troubling figure, given that he's a bat-first player from the SEC who was drafted ahead of Nick Kurtz, Jac Caglianone and Cam Smith, all of whom spent a good chunk of 2025 in the majors. Coors Field could allow Condon to hit in the .230 range during his prime, but he'll likely go through significant struggles in his first exposure to big-league pitching. Read Past Outlooks
Could compete for 1B job
Condon could get the chance to compete for the Rockies' everyday first base job during spring training, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After moving both Warming Bernabel and Michael Toglia off the 40-man roster during the offseason, the Rockies are now without both of their primary options at first base from 2025. Blaine Crim and waiver pickup Troy Johnston reached the majors for the first time in 2025 and could operate in a platoon at first base, but both players are on their second organizations and are entering their age-29 campaigns, making it unlikely that they're viewed as anything more than stopgaps at the position. Barring any outside additions, Condon -- one of the organization's top prospects -- thus appears likely to get his first look in the big leagues at some point in 2026, and it's not out of the question for him to force his way onto the Opening Day roster with a strong showing in spring training. The 22-year-old slashed .266/.379/.447 with 14 home runs and a 12.6 percent walk rate in 90 games last season between High-A Spokane and Double-A Hartford and continued to thrive in the Arizona Fall League, where he posted an .873 OPS in 22 games.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Condon put up cartoonish numbers as a junior at Georgia (1.565 OPS, 37 HR in 60 games), sandwiched in between lackluster showings in the Cape Cod League in 2023 (.648 OPS in 11 games) and the Northwest League last year after signing (.518 OPS, 34:4 K:BB in 25 games). There's zero evidence he can produce with a wood bat or without the comforts of the SEC, where small parks combine with allegedly juiced bats, juiced balls and electronic forms of cheating to concoct preposterous stat lines that carry less and less weight each year. Defensively, Condon is more athletic and versatile than the pure first basemen in the class, but he's still likely to end up in left field. There was a strong statistical case for Condon to be the top 2024 draftee selected in first-year player drafts prior to his debut, but now he should be treated like a pure upside flyer with an accepted potential outcome of total bust. He's not a worthwhile use of a late pick in 2025 leagues.
