Tornes didn't hit for over-the-fence power in his Dominican Summer League debut, but he checks every other box for a toolsy outfielder heading stateside. Signed for $2.5 million out of Cuba in January 2025, Tornes was one of the youngest players in the DSL and slashed .279/.395/.402 with 24 steals and a 118 wRC+. The 6-foot-2, 178-pound switch hitter logged a 105.4 mph 90th percentile exit velocity, according to Baseball America, so he could develop above-average or better power down the road. He doesn't turn 18 until July, by which time he could be preparing to make his full-season debut at Single-A. He has five-category potential and top 25 overall prospect upside, but he'll need to keep hitting for average while showing signs in the power department. Read Past Outlooks
