Blanco, a 6-foot-7 mountain of a man, already has a cult following due to his historic exit velocities and predictable domination at the 2025 Arizona Fall League Home Run Derby. He had multiple home runs with exit velocities over 118 mph last year and a career-best 120.4 mph exit velocity in the AFL -- a figure matched by only Oneil Cruz and Vladimir Guerrero in the majors in 2025. It's an open question as to wether he'll be anything more than some modern approximation of Joey Gallo, as Blanco struck out 33.6 percent of the time as a 20-year-old at Single-A and 30.2 percent of the time in the AFL.
